Because constructing a city that is sustainable, creative and connected can only be a team sport, DataCity is an experimentation accelerator bringing together industry leaders.

"DataCity illustrates a vision of the smart and sustainable city that we wish to promote. The smart city mobilizes a great amount of data that is produced daily in order to find new answers to the challenges of sustainability. Thanks to the open data policy, of which Paris has been a pioneer and that we strongly support, the “data scientists” have extremely rich data at their disposal. Nevertheless, big data will increase in value for society only if we encourage a dynamic of open innovation. We must create actual ecosystems bringing together local communities, large and small enterprises, startups, and individual citizens."

Jean-Louis Missika Deputy Mayor of Paris in Charge of Town Planning, Architecture, the Greater Paris Project, Economic Development and Attractiveness.

A technology had to be invented to deal with disparate local area protocols; and as a result of solving their challenge - the multi-protocol router was born.
